Orongorongo trip

Hey!

We are going to the Orongongo's next week and staying in Goat Stream Hut which is the Thomson's private hut opposite Turere Lodge.

To get there we will catch the train to Lower Hutt then bus to Sunny Grove. We'll be leaving Tuesday morning. From Sunny Grove the Whakanui track goes over the hill to the Orongorongo valley then it's a short way down the river to the hut. In total the walk is 4-5 hours.

At Goat Stream you can enjoy sitting by the open fire and the famous swing. 

We would like to climb Mt Matthews so will try and fit that in somewhere as well!

Returning to Welllington, Wednesday evening, via the Whakanui track again.

It will be a pretty chill social trip so bring friends :)
