Midwinter - Round the mountain

Round the mountain, an iconic NZ tramp featuring a 4-5 day loop around the base of Mt Ruapehu!

The plan for this trip will be quite flexible depending on weather, timing and snow.
This will be a medium-hard difficulty trip, with long days (potentially up to 10 hrs) with a wide mixture of terrain & river crossings. No snow experience is required and if we run into ice then we will turn back the way we came.

Good fitness is definitely required and experience with multi-day tramping.

The current plan is to do the classic round the mountain track counter-clockwise

Cost will be around the 40-50$ range since this is quite a long distance to drive. We will decide on whether to do shared meals later.
