Tuesday, 3 September 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM
Organiser: Justin Atkinson
At 6pm in our usual meeting room AM101!
Come along to this bumper meeting to hear about Conservation and Sustainability Weeks 2024, the importance of conservation, a summary of recent club involvement in environmental protection efforts, and how to tramp sustainably (thanks to all you who do!)
We also have two wonderful guest speakers coming along. They will demonstrate that small actions by individuals add up to make a meaningful collective impact:
- Nate from Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne will talk about the reserve's contribution to protecting our native wildlife and nurturing human connections with the outdoors, along with the ecosanctuary's ambitious and inspiring Kia Mouriora te Kaiwharawhara Sanctuary to Sea initiative
- Nigel from Old Man's Beard Free Wellington will detail how community collaboration goes a long way to looking after our natural environment. OMB is a particularly nasty weed, so we'll get a demonstration of how to sustainably tackle the problem. Him and Nate will promo an upcoming workshop at Trelissick Park tailored to trampers!
Also DON'T FORGET to vote in Bird of the Year 2024!!
