It's New Zealand's annual conservation week, so we'll be running some events to tie in! Also Sustainability Week so will be an element of sustainable tramping!
DOC: "The focus of Conservation Week 2024 is taking action for nature. Whether it is by picking up rubbish, donating time or money to a local community group, there is always something you can do to help our environment and the native species that make Aotearoa special."
- A meeting with guest speakers/presentation on protecting conservation outcomes and sustainable tramping
- A collab with VUW SCB cleaning up Island Bay
- Working bee/workshop with OMBFW and Zealandia at Trelissick Park (with a working bee on Sunday 15th September!)
- Possible tour of the Taputeranga Marine Reserve with the VUW Marine Ecology Lab
- A special edition of Walkies: FREE entry for VUW students to the Zoo
