Update 26 June: Signups closed, trip full

I'm going to book a car on the ferry south departing 28th June am (Friday Matariki), returning 7th July evening (day before Tri 2 starts). Tramp dates somewhere in that window, leaving room for bad weather

Gauging interest for a 'hard' tramp up the Kokatahi/ Toaroha rivers to Mungo Hut and possibly onto Sir Robert if conditions allow. 6/7 days, long hard West Coast river and alpine travel, must have prior alpine and river experience. If you enjoy untracked Tararua bush-bashing in a white-out, this trip is for you. Also there are hotpools :D

However, there is possibly another trip going to the same area that's much easier, so you can also say if you want to do an easy/ medium tramp, and it could be we combine car travel. I'll set the entries to "Waitlist", and probably talk to people individually at the next meeting or email about suitablilty

Cost will be non-trivial, as we'll split the vehical plus passenger costs of the ferry equally (full car ideal as cheaper) along with fuel driving a fair distance from Picton to Hokitika. But the South Island is amazing, it is very much worth it. If a few people can bring cars obviously we can get different trip options going

TBD
