Organiser: James Sales

Dates are only notional.

I will probably dip from the Club at the end of this year but before I go, I want to work out if there is any interest in alpine climbing here.

I have the goal of climbing the Great Pinnacle.

It doesn't look too tough. Depite thieir looming figures, the Pinnacles appear to be MC grade 2 climbs mostly.  From what I have heard, mainly requiring some protection along the lines of slings and ice screws. Climbing early is a must to avoid the snow heating up in the morning sun.

Pre-requisites are of course snowcraft, and rock climbing exposure. If you have done snowcraft before or if you go along to the Wednesday Climbing Nights, then this is a good opportunity to take your mountaineering or rock climbing to the next level.

If you are open to learning the ropes, there is Snowcraft I, if you are planning on going, along with Rockcraft later in the year.

Ideally I'd look at a group of two, or two groups of two.
