Rockcraft 2.0: It's in the name.

We will head to a secret square climbing location midday, where you can practice your belay and climbing skills outdoors! We will teach you to stay safe while climbing and belay someone else safely outdoors. If you've never climbed before, this is the perfect introductory trip!

We are running three Hangdog sessions for the next two climbing nights and a final session on Wednesday before the confirmed date.

You all have an opportunity to belay in a controlled environment. If you know everything there is to know about climbing, this is the perfect trip to get to know some other keen climbers at VUW! 

We'll get there by carpooling, so please bring your cars! If we don't have enough vehicles for climbers, we must organise groups to take the train. ( Trip cost for fuel will be calculated once we have a set amount of cars roughly, it was $5 per passenger for RC1.0)

An email with basic preparation points, this Wednesday's belay session, and seat availability will be sent out on Monday.

An email with the go-ahead or cancellation (weather-dependent) will also be sent on Thursday.

Rough Plan:

• We will meet at Hunter Carpark at 9:00 a.m., hopefully leaving by 9:30. This allows time for everyone to arrive and sort out transport. If there aren't enough cars, we will be running a group down to the train line from CBD station to Pukarua Bay. (I will be sending an email out on Saturday with the car groups and essential information; this is where those without a car spot will be taking the train, so bring your cars if you can!)
• Arrive at the bay and walk to the crag. Enjoy a day filled with climbing and fun!
• Return to Wellington CBD/ Hunter Carpark around 4/5 pm (or earlier if discussed with your driver).

More information will be posted once the date has been decided. I will keep you posted during the Tuesday meetings.
