Plimmerton planting potluck (w/ Plim Rotary and Porirua Council)

Meet 8am at Wellington train statiomnto catch 8:14am Kapiti train. That takes 30min to Plimmerton, then 2min walk to Plimmerton Domain. If you miss this, you will be slightly late, which is alg but best to be on time!

We'll be helping to plant trees in the Domain, all tools and instructions provided! No planting skills needed. Bbq lunch provided after!

"Since 2020, Rotary Club of Plimmerton & Porirua City Council have organised the planting of approximately 20k trees and wetland grasses around Plimmerton Domain and Taupo Stream. The most visible of these are now above head height. The members of VUWTC are most welcome to join us to help with planting.

The objectives for the planting are:

- to increase biodiversity of the area.

- to increase carbon capture by creating a forest.

- to reduce flooding on Plimmerton Domain

- to improve the water quality of Taupo Stream that runs into Porirua Harbour.
