Bonus ice climbing on Snowcraft

Heading out at a silly hour just to get more time with the maunga? YES PLEASE.

This day trip is for early birds that are already coming to snowcraft II, so comfortable with snowcraft I stuff (using crampons, ice axe on easy grade 1 slopes). We will be heading out to some ice climbing crag (probably at the top of Turoa ski field, ~2200m altitude and 1h30 approach, depending on conditions) for the day, and then drive to the Whakapapa side later in the evening. 

Limited places for beginners, it's ok if you have never ice climbed, but you have to be very confortable climbing on a rope, top rope belaying, etc. Very limited places in my car, but we can organise for one or two more cars to come (there is likely enough ice for 2-3 top ropes). Be prepared for a full day in winter alpine conditions, you must be able to stay warm even if we are not moving after we get to the crag (heaps of warm clothes, bring a cup and tea bags/milo/cup-a-soup I'll have a camping cooker to make hot water).
