Welly Weekend Walkies - Seatoun Bunker Tour

Much history lies behind the bunkers of Seatoun. From use in the Second World War, to the untold escapades (aka parties) of a certain Tramping Club, these fortresses have seen it all.

On this instalment of Walkies, we'll be exploring these historic sites. And don't worry, we'll be trekking to some hidden spots off the marked track.

Meet at the Welsh Dragon pub at end of Courtenay Place at 6pm, catch 2 bus to get there. We'll then head up to Fort Dorset and explore its bunkers, before making our way to the Moa Point radar station. It's then a short walk to the first stop of the 4 bus, which goes back to town and then up to Kelburn/Uni/Mairangi. We'll be done by 10pm or so.
