A-Frame Ruahine Traverse (bonus hut cleanup)! ✨

A medium 4-day extravaganza in the rugged Ruahines Ranges! We'll be heading to pretty Traverse (A-Frame) Hut to give it a clean and stay the night. We'll then explore 3 other huts via various tracks and rivers.

I need drivers! Please get in touch if you have a car and are keen ;)

Cost: $30-35 for fuel

Day 1:

Meet at the Hunter car park at 9am, drive to the Ruahines (2hr 30min), and walk up to A-Frame (DOC time is 2hr 30min). The clean will follow. This hut only has 3 bunks, so we'll take tents.

Day 2:

We'll walk to Stanfield Hut (3-4hr). After lunch, we'll walk a further 2hr to Cattle Creek Hut. This has 8 bunks and we'll stay the night here.

Day 3:

A river walk day to Mid Pohangina Hut (2.5hr), and then Ngamoko hut (2.5hr)

Day 4:

Walk back to the car with a bit of river walking, via Stanfield Hut (3-4hr). Back in Welly by the evening, ideally 7-8pm.
