West coast caving meet

The NZSS (New Zealand Speleological Society) runs an annual caving meet in Charlston (West Coast of the South Island) on King's birthday weekend.
This is not a VUWTC event, but I'll be driving to-and-from Nelson if anyone wants a ride to come along!

I will be driving from Nelson in the morning on May 30th, and driving back to Nelson in the evening on the 1st. If you want to join in please make sure your available for those times (e.g. don't book a flight too late/early in the day). I can pick you up from the airport easy as.

You will need to sort out your own accomodation in Charlston, I believe there's some DOC campsites available that most people are using.
You'll need your own overalls & head torch for caving, though you can probably borrow a helmet from the club gear shed. Contact the NZSS if you want to ask them about borrowing gear.

This event has a wide range of caving opportunities and is designed for both beginners as well as experienced people looking to do exploration.
