Come along and help CVNZ restore the native ngahere/forests of Rangituhi/Colonial Knob Scenic Reserve. On this day, we will be controlling a variety of invasive weeds, including asparagus weed which are smothering our native plants and preventing native regeneration.
CVNZ will provide all of the tools/equipment required as well as gloves and vests. We will also provide morning tea refreshments, however, you will need to bring your own packed lunch and a full water bottle.
Please wear: long sleeved clothing to protect yourself from cuts and scratches, a hat, waterproof jacket and sturdy, covered footwear.
Volunteers are welcome to meet THE team onsite, or get a ride in our CVNZ van. *We can transport upto 9 people, please contact our office at: wellington@cvnz.org.nz or call 021 057 1370 to check our availability as we have limited seats.
Meet at Camp Elsdon Carpark in Porirua! You can find the location on google maps. If you are coming from Wellington city, you'll need to take a train to Porirua and then take the 226 Bus to Prosser Street in the industrial bit of Elsdon suburb, or alternatively walk from Porirua train station to Camp Elsdon Carpark. Also, if you haven't already, please signup to CVNZ "https://volunteerportal.conservationvolunteers.co.nz/s/registration?startURL=" and then make a booking for this conservation event here: "https://volunteerportal.conservationvolunteers.co.nz/s/make-booking?id=a0rMn00000ss4ltIAA", but please signup here too so I know how many trampers are coming along!
