Welly Weeknight walkie - photography workshop edition

Come join me for a cruisy evening walk around some very central areas of Wellington. 
Starting from Oriental Bay, I'd like to go up to the Mount Vic lookout, and then back down along the vibrant streets of Wellington's city center.  

While it is incredibly likely that you have walked this or a similar route very recently, I propose we tune into a more observant, artistic view of our surroundings and the people that we share company with. And participate in a small photography workshop along the way!! 📷

During this walk, we will be able to experiment with photography concepts such as layering, leading the eye through an image, texture, colour, and framing. All in an ever-changing setting, from a chill bay vibe, through foliage, to a lookout where you can see landscapes for days, then back through the city for urban night lights, having seen both above, around, and within Wellington's thoughts and emotions. 

These concepts mentioned above can literally be captured on a potato with a pinhole, so I encourage everybody to come!!
However, for those with an interest in something more technically advanced, I'm going to make up a little pamphlet and touch on the basics of an exposure triangle: aperture, shutter speed, & ISO. Annnd maybe there might be some cool subtle things you can do with that info to help with 'framing' or 'leading the eye'. 

& also for someone who was interested, but did not have access to a camera, lmk and I can bring another one for you to play around with.

Ultimately, photography, like every other expression, is about storytelling, and everybody's story is different. Because of that, I am super interested to see the different narratives that we all create from the same setting. And I hope that even if you don't take away any 'cool new skills', that you can at least take away a slightly different view of how you or someone else views this city.
