Pencarrow lighthouse / coast road cycling day trip

Another cycling day trip?? 
This one's even easier! For those who missed out on the Red Rocks trip,

• Maybe you didn't have the time?
• Maybe you didn't have a bike? 
• Maybe getting to the Red Rocks carpark with a bicycle was just a little too much logistical admin.

WELL THIS ONE IS FOR YOU :)) (And everybody else, of course!)

The general plan for this stunner is as follows: 
Meet on the waterfront, outside the east by west ferry dock. 

Board the ferry, and take a scenic ride across the harbour to days bay. 

For those with bikes: cycle 12 minutes to the start of the Pencarrow Coast road track. 
For those without bikes, It looks like we can rent them directly opposite the dock in Days Bay. (This strat would require a request as they are not formally open rn).

• Alternatively, I could hopefully line up ferry times with bus times. where you will be able to rent a bike (from the same company??) at the start of the track. 
• Alternatively alternatively: if all else fails, you could catch bus #83?? from Courtenay Place, towards the train station and then around to the start of the track (extra convenience? less scenic than a ferry)

We will then have a nice and chill, super easy cycle to Pancarrow light house, maybe beyond? and back. 

Regarding bike rentals for those interested : 

Looks like a standard bike is $30 for the first hour, increasing $10 each hour afterwards. 

& for an e-bike for those speedsters: is $50 for the first hour, increasing $10 each hour afterwards.

Timing guide:

• 2 hours - Gives you plenty of time to discover Pencarrow Head's lighthouses and lakes, along with amazing views of Wellington's coastline and the Kaikoura Ranges. An easy ride, suitable for beginners.
• 4 hours - Hoping to check out all the Pencarrow side tracks? Fancy a seaside picnic lunch? Or maybe you’re keen to explore Fitzroy Bay and the SS Paiaka Wreck? A four hour bike hire will ensure you have plenty of time for the adventure of your choice.
