Our club is collaborating with Department of Conservation rangers to service multiple huts along the beautiful Ōrongorongo river on a mid-week overnighter!
On the first day, we'll drive for 45 minutes before several hours of walking and some easy hut/track maintenance tasks. We'll then stay overnight at Turere Lodge for free (a big thank you to DOC). The next day we'll explore the valley's swimming holes and side tracks, and then return to Wellington by the early evening. There will a small fuel cost of roughly $5-10.
We'll be looking for multiple people to lead small groups to each hut, plus drivers to transport everyone from Wellington.
More info coming soon...!
