FMC Photo competition - Tramping Club Entry

Calling all of our photographers!! The time has come around again to enter into the FMC photography competition. Show us your amazing work and be in to win from the prize pool of $6,500.

As an FMC affiliated club, we are encouraged to run our own mini competition and submit the winning photos in the wider competition. This will be run until the 1^st of September before our panel of judges choose a winner for each category.

There are seven categories you can enter:

1. Above Bushline with human element
2. Above Bushline without human element
3. Below Bushline with human element
4. Below Bushline without human element
5. Historic
6. Native Flora, Fauna & Fungi
7. Long Exposure

Prizes for 2026 include

• Fiordland Packs: Unique NZ made full-sized photography pack or lightweight tramping pack, $1200
• Rab: 2 $400 vouchers to spend at Outfitters on your favourite Rab gear, $400 each.
• Wilderness Magazine: 7 annual print + website subscription $120 each.
• Potton and Burton:3 copies of Fiordland Journeys, due to be published in September 2026, valued at $59.99 each, 2 copies of A Hidden World by Paula Vigus, valued at $49.99, 2 copies of Caring for Kahurangi by Sandy and Robin Toy, valued at $59.99.
• Dwights Outdoors: $200 worth of prizes
• Bushbuck: Igloo Puffer Jacket (Men’s or Women’s), valued at $649.99
• Earth Sea Sky: D480 Anorak (Men’s or Women’s), valued at $349
• Excio: One year membership to Excio Community valued at $120 for each winner and one year digital subscription to Excio Captivating Photography Journal valued at $100

Submitting Photos!

Please submit your photos to my email: Mia.baigent@gmail.com, and make sure to:

• Include a caption with photo submission and name e.g. Jim Brown Dawn at the Beach
• Photos must be taken in the current or preceding calendar years (except for historic ones) and be taken in New Zealand.
• Please make sure each photo is between 1MB and 5MB
• You have until 4th of September at 5pm to submit into the club entry, we will then judge and nominate winners by the 10^th that will then be submitted into the FMC competition.
• If sending the photo directly in the email doesn’t work, please upload a google drive link with your photo.
