UNFORTUATKEY CANCELLED DUE TO FULLY BOOKED FERRIES... :( RIP paynes i'll wait another year to see you.
**date are very arbitrary just looking to see if people are keen, hit me up at one of the next meetings/email/facebook if youre keen or just sign up here. Kawakawa bay (in Taupo) is also an option apparently that also the place to be around easter time**
For those who dont know Paynes:
1. a GREAT place to have a super chill holiday far away from the horrors of uni, come to climb, to swim, to lie on the grass all day and get raging sunburn.. the world is your oyster.
2. bolted climbes grade from around 12 to 26(ish), don't worry if you've never climbed outside before this is definitley one of the coolest places to learn//although hopefully we will run rockcraft before this.
3. theres swimming holes for days because the campsite is located right on the Takaka River so if you've had enough climbing theres always stuff to do!
4. i think its around $15 per night so pretty reasonable and we can decide how long we wanna stay down there.
5. Transport: probably wouldn't reccomend flying because it's expenny as, if we take a couple cars and share the cost of the ferry it shouldn't be too expensive, probably around 3.5 hours from Picton to Takaka + lots of cafes and swimming holes along the way if we wanna take the chill route.
6. The climbing itself is epic, ranging from cruizy as to pretty damn epic and some have some damn good views! Climbing over water is also an option for those who want a instant dunking when the blazing sun gets to hot on the wall.
7. Most importantly the climbing community is amazing and always willing to teach some lessons and have a chat! Having a couple days/weeks/months at Paynes is a great way to get into the epic climbing community of NZ :)
