How to submit to Heels!

EDIT: submissions are now closed, thank you!!! Heels 2k22 will be available at the Billy Awards. 

Heels is our annual-ish publication that recounts all our trips and other shenanigans. It gets printed into little books, and left in huts all around the country to spread the divine gospel of VUWTC.

Myself and the rest of the Heels team (Kathleen, Daniel, Helena, Neve, and Nic) are working hard behind the scenes to bring you a 2021/22 club publication.

But... we need you (yes, you, the trip leaders can't write everything) to help fill the pages with all the cool, impressive, sexy, unhinged stuff that the club gets up to.

Here's how to do it...

1. Make something! It doesn't have to be a masterpiece, and it also doesn't have to be a simple recount of events. The more variety the better! Narratives, photos, artwork, poetry, whatever. We're also taking submissions of anything that isn't strictly trip related so if you've got any extra photos, gear reviews, or taco tips then slide into our inbox.

2. Post it on the trip reports section (under 'trips' on the menu) so that it is accessible to future generations of VUWTC members who might not see the Heels.

3. Email it to vuwtcpublicity@gmail.com and attach any photos. Make sure you do this as well as posting on the trip reports section, so that we have the photos in high res and have a notification to keep track of!

To keep us sane, we're putting in place some deadlines for getting content to us. This will mean that we can work on it throughout the tri so it can get printed ASAP!

Anything that happened in 2021 - by 9th August

Anything that happened in tri 1, including midwinter trips - by 30th August

Anything since - ASAP, but around the 3rd Oct is your absolute last chance
