By Jasmin Malcolm, 01 September 2026

On Tuesday the 1st of September Zade and I were selected to co-chair the committee meeting. Max (the president) had a first aid training that was required by his work, so us treasurers jumped at the chance to run the meeting and impose our rule upon everyone.

For those that don't know, committee meetings normally take WAAAAAYY too long, and are a general faff. Zade and I decided we weren't interested in any of that, and we were going to run the fastest meeting in recent history. We set a goal of sub-30 minutes.

We created a streamlined minutes document from the minutes that Secretary Max had sent through and allocated time slots to each point. Before the meeting, we started proudly posturing about our new positions as the Supreme President-Treasurer Overlords. Zade managed to acquire a stopwatch from UniRec.

The Meeting started at 5pm on the dot. We ran through our streamlined plan and informed everyone of their time limits. Apparently, the pressure of a stopwatch makes people much faster so we even had a couple of extra minutes for other business at the end! The meeting adjourned at 5:23pm which is extremely quick for a committee meeting. Unfortunately, Max didnt let us run any further meetings, probably because he felt threatened by our superiority, but this 23 minute meeting will go down in history!
